Pitched roofing
Pitched roofs are what most UK houses have and what most of our work is. Whether it's a re-slate on a Victorian terrace or a new tiled roof on an extension, the detail that matters is the same: the right covering, fixed correctly, with the leadwork done properly.
From about £80/m² (concrete) to £200/m² (natural slate)
Slate
Natural slate is the traditional covering across the South West and lasts a century when fixed well. Welsh slate is the benchmark; Spanish slate is a good-value alternative; fibre-cement slate gives the look at a lower cost. Old slate roofs usually fail through nail sickness rather than the slates themselves — we'll tell you whether yours can be re-fixed or needs re-slating.
Clay tiles
Plain clay tiles and pantiles suit period houses and last 60 years or more. Handmade and machine-made grades vary in price; we match existing tiles where you're repairing part of a roof.
Concrete tiles
Interlocking concrete tiles are the most economical covering and the quickest to lay. Modern ranges come in slate-grey, red and brown finishes and carry long manufacturer guarantees.
New pitched roofs on extensions
We work alongside your builder: trusses or cut roof, underlay, battens, covering, leadwork against the house wall, and gutters. Matching the main roof is usually the aim; we'll advise where the pitch or the tile makes that impossible.
