Systems we fit
- Torch-on felt (three layer) — the traditional system, good value, 15–20 year life with the right specification
- EPDM rubber — a single sheet with no seams on most domestic roofs, 25+ year life, ideal for garages and extensions
- GRP fibreglass — a seamless laminate that's tough enough to walk on, the best choice for balconies and terraces
- Single-ply membranes — for larger commercial roofs
Repair or replace?
Ponding water, blisters, cracks at the upstands and a spongy deck are the signs. A felt roof with one split can often be patched; one that's ponding and blistering everywhere is throwing good money after bad. We'll tell you which.
Insulation
Replacing a flat roof is the moment to add insulation on top of the deck (a warm roof). It's usually required by Building Regulations when the covering is replaced, and it stops the condensation that rots so many old flat roofs from the inside.
