A 1930s detached house re-roofed in machine-made clay plain tiles to match the original, with new underlay, battens, ventilation, three chimneys re-flashed and two valleys re-leaded.
The job
The original clay tiles had delaminated with frost across the north slopes. Full strip, new underlay and battens, re-tiled in a matching red sand-faced clay plain tile.
What it involved
- Full scaffold wrap
- Strip and dispose; sound tiles kept for future repairs
- Breathable underlay, treated battens, eaves and ridge ventilation
- Clay plain tiles, bonnet hips, half-round ridge
- Code 5 lead to two valleys, Code 4 to three chimneys
